Dave Gallaher Documentary, his life, his legacy and his role in All Black Rugby, tragically killed in France in the First World War, on DVD, . It's about the Letterkenny RFC, which named its new ground the Dave Gallaher Memorial Ground in honour of the player who was born in Ramelton, Donegal. The opening was held in 2005 and was attended by 6 All Blacks (Tana (cpt), C.Smith, Jerry Collins, Tialata, Angus MacDonald, Roko) plus Lochore and D Shand. It traces Gallaher's life, where he was born and his legacy to Ireland and NZ. The DVD has extensive coverage of the visit by the AB's and the appt of a mascot to the Ireland/NZ grand Slam match at Dublin, a competition won by a little girl from Ramelton. NZ Trench Team against a South African Army side at Richmond in 1916. The NZ Team was from Codford camp, the largest NZ training camp in the UK, serving as a retrainng depot for Gallipoli wounded. The rugby team from this camp had won 10 of 11 games in a series of charity matches and this match against the South Africans was considered th big match up as they had been unbeaten.
